Researcher For Zero Waste Leeds
November 2018 - Current
Zero Waste Leeds was born out of conversations that several people had involving waste reduction, reuse, repair and recycling in Leeds have had over the last few months. My role has developed from working on the recent campaign with Hubbub below. Zero waste Leeds offered me a paid internship as their researcher. Research into waste reduction around the city, connecting with people / students / designers / makers to organise workshops in repairing. Visiting plastic free and zero waste shops, the job involved lots of online research, active communication, organisation and connecting dots between people making change, to start building a movement.
October 2019 - Current
Ambassador for Hubbub, a charity that creates environmental campaigns. Current project creating awareness and encouraging recycling on the streets of Leeds. We built an installation on the
high-street out of rubbish as the centrepiece. My role has been to manage the
installation, engage with members of the public about the waste issues in Leeds
and educating people about a new recycling system around the city.
